Andrew Freedman, Chair

Andrew Freedman, the Managing Director at Glendon Partners, is responsible for portfolio company financial oversight and controls, as well as leading financial due-diligence activities. Prior to joining Glendon, Mr. Freedman was CFO of the Learning Company, a pre-GCP I portfolio company, where he helped lead a successful turnaround and sale of the company. Mr. Freedman held various financial management roles at the Learning Company, Broderbund and Mindscape from 1994 to 2002. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Freedman held various financial management positions at Paramount Communications. Prior to 1988, Mr. Freedman spent four years in public accounting. Mr. Freedman serves on the Board of Directors of Lineage/Vincotech. Mr. Freedman earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

John P. Danner

John Danner, Managing Director of Operations and the Gores Group, is responsible for portfolio company oversight as well as leading operational due diligence efforts for the firm's Industrial investments. Prior to joining Gores, Mr. Danner led the turnaround of America’s oldest wind turbine company as President and Chief Executive Officer of Northern Power Systems (TSX: NPS). Prior to joining NPS, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of a venture capital-backed biotechnology manufacturing company. Previously, Mr. Danner served for six years at PerkinElmer, Inc. (NYSE: PKI) where he held numerous executive leadership positions, helping transform the company from a broadly diversified defense contractor to a global leader in life sciences, and ultimately running the $450M life science tools group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Danner was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and an officer in the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine force. 

Mr. Danner is currently Chairman of the Board of Thought Industries, a consumer learning company. Mr. Danner earned a B.S. with distinction in mechanical engineering from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Edward Johnson

Edward Johnson, Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at the Gores Group,  is responsible for leading the execution and negotiation of Gores acquisitions and divestitures in the healthcare and industrial sector. Prior to joining Gores, Mr. Johnson was a Managing Director and Investment Committee member of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners III and IV, and DLJ Growth Capital Partners I. Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Johnson worked for E.M Warburg Pincus & Co, LLC., The Boston Consulting Group, and Chevron Corporation. Mr. Johnson currently serves on the Board of Directors of Therakos. Previously, Mr. Johnson served on additional Boards of Directors during his 17 years in private equity, including Wastequip, CRC HealthCare, and most recently Landis and Gyr. Mr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Michael W. Entz

Prior to joining the Board of Directors, Michael W. Entz served as Chief Executive Officer at Cosmo Specialty Fibers from 2010 until his retirement in December 2018. Prior to that Mr. Entz was Mill Manager at NewPage Escanaba from April 2018. He joined NewPage Corporation in November 2006 as Mill Manager for NewPage Corporation's Wickliffe, Kentucky, operations. Prior to that, he was Plant and General Manager at Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation mills in Hodge, Louisiana, and has worked at Smurfit-Stone's Fernandina Beach, Florida, mill as Employee Relations Manger, and it's West Point-Pepperell mill in Lindale, Georgia, as Director of Employee Relations. Mr. Entz holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama.
