Currently, Cosmo is confirming the commercial viability of extracting:
- Cellulosic sugars from the mill’s red liquor stream;
- Acetic and other acids from the red liquor condensate stream;
- Formic acid from the boiler system C02 emission stream.
Cosmo is a dissolving wood pulp sulfite mill producing 140,000 tons annually of high-alpha pulp bales and rolls as feedstock for a wide variety of end products.
